How to Sprint and Run Faster – Zelda: Breath of the Wild

Recommended Videos

You’ll have to cover a lot of ground while exploring Hyrule in Zelda: Breath of the Wild, and simply walking isn’t going to cut it. If you’re on foot, you will definitely want to rely on running and sprinting to cover more ground quickly. Both are easy to do, and only one of them burns stamina, so we’ll walk you through how to sprint and how to run faster in the game.

To run faster while playing, simply push the left thumbstick all the way forward. As long as Link isn’t crouching, he’ll move at the fastest, non-sprinting speed, which is enough for basic exploration and moving around a battlefield.

Sprinting allows you to move a lot faster, but eats up stamina. When the stamina runs out you’ll have to catch your breath and you’ll be unable to sprint for a short period of time. To sprint in Zelda: Breath of the Wild, hold down B while moving with the left thumbstick. This will have Link move at his top speed, covering much more ground quickly. You wouldn’t want to run at this speed during fights, though, as you need to conserve your stamina for attacking and defending.
