Yami Bakura is a new legendary duelist added to Yu-Gi-Oh Duel Links, and he can be pretty tough to beat. He has been introduced to the game through the new, limited time event Destiny Board of Doom. Through the event, you can unlock powerful cards as well as Yami Bakura himself by accumulating event points. In order to unlock him, you’ll have to beat him. So we’re here to help give some insight on which cards can help you do it.
The first thing to know is that the higher level version of Yami Bakura that you face, the more points you’ll acquire. This is very important as the duelist is only unlocked by achieving 200,000 event points. To challenge him, you’ll have to collect dice from beating random duelists around Duel World and then spending it to fight him.
Yami Bakura uses a special set of duel conditions which allows him to win any duel after four turns as long as Dark Necrofear remains in his graveyard. The best way to counter this is by using cards that remove monsters from the opponent’s graveyard such as the spell Gravedigger Ghoul or the trap Disappear. This will effectively cancel out the FINAL win condition and will allow you to drag the duel out as long as you need too.
Yami Bakura also uses mostly fiend-type monsters, which makes Exile of the Wicked extremely powerful as it immediately destroys any face-up fiend-type monsters on the field. The Hunter with 7 Weapons is also very strong as you can designate fiend-type monsters for its effect and it will have 2,000 attack against them. Bakura’s Ectoplasmer and Soul Exchange magic cards can be real trouble as well, so having something that negates spell card activations, such as Magic Jammer, is incredibly valuable.
One deck type that seems to work very well against Yami Bakura is a dinosaur-based one using Rex Raptor as the duelist. With Rex’s Dinosaur Kingdom skill, you’ll start the duel with the powerful Jurassic World field spell active. Combine this with dinos such as Crawling Dragon #2 and Two-Headed King Rex, which can fused to create Braccio-raidus, and you will have monsters that can beat almost any basic monster that Bakura will summon.
