XCOM 2: How to Change the Language of the Soldiers

Language – XCOM 2

Recommended Videos

XCOM 2 puts the player in the role of a Commander in charge of a human army against an alien threat. Along the way, you’ll recruit and add onto your army people of many different nationalities. Each one can be set to speak their native language, in fact. The game is that in-depth about it.

By default, this setting is not turned on. You need to head into the game’s options with “Edit Options.” Once there, head to the Audio tab and then make sure that “Soldier Speech” is marked as well as “Match Soldiers’ Language to Nationality.” They will now be speaking according to their Nationality. This can of course be changed for anyone by simply going to the Armory, Viewing Soldiers, and double clicking on the soldier name. Then, you’ll get the opportunity to “Customize” them and change their Character Info where their Nationality can be altered. Every Soldier is customizable in this way, as well as in their appearances.

There you have it, that’s how you can change it for each soldier within XCOM 2. A quick heads-up in case you clicked on this article thinking it was a tutorial on changing your game’s core language, that is done by right clicking on your game within your Steam library, hitting Properties, and then going to the Language tab.
