How to Unlock Mag’har Orc Race in Battle for Azeroth

Recommended Videos

The World of Warcraft: Battle for Azeroth expansion is out on August 14, 2018 and with it are coming a variety of allied races to play as. During the time travel romp that was the Warlords of Draenor expansion, we met the Mag’har Orc race. This alternate universe breed of orcs was never exposed to fel blood magic, thus retaining their original dark complexion. In this alternate universe the Draenei have began forcing the Mag’har Orcs into following the Light. This subjugated group makes for a nice parallel to the Horde’s own struggles on Azeroth, and at the rate that Sylvanus is making enemies, they need all the help they can get.

In order to unlock the Mag’har Orc race during the Battle for Azeroth you must complete prerequisites before beginning a quest to unlock the race. The first requirement of unlocking this race is to earn the achievement Ready for War. This will be earned by working your way through the War Campaign throughout the expansion. The War Campaign during Battle for Azeroth functions similarly to that of the Order Hall Campaign from Legion. This could realistically take several weeks of gameplay to complete in full.

On top of this, you must also reach exalted reputation with the Honorbound. This Horde-specific faction will become available through playing the War Campaign. This faction of the Horde military will be on the frontline throughout Kul Tiras and Zandalar maintaining stronghold and strategic points. Through partaking in missions that will disrupt Alliance forces in the new continents, players will grow their reputation with the faction. While a majority of the reputation needed will be gained through these story quests, you will also need to grind Honorbound world quests in order to complete this step.

And while the grind itself may seem like a simple, if time-consuming, procedure, these missions will take you deep into the enemy factions territory. If you are playing with War Mode enabled you will more than likely find yourself in many PvP encounters. With War Mode enabled, however, you will have access to your PvP talents throughout the game world, as well as have your equipment scale to match opposing players to even the odds a bit. This mode also features a 10% bonus to all rewards.

After this you will have access to the Mag’har Orc race unlock quest. This scenario will bring you to the alternate universe Draenor where you will deliver this discriminated race to the glory of the battlefields on Azeroth. Once these requirements have been met, you will be able to gain access to the Mag’har Orc race during character creation.
