Why Ahsoka Attends Padme’s Funeral in Tales of the Jedi

Ahsoka Tano attends the funeral to honor her close friend, and Ahsoka never lets the Empire change who she is –someone who cares about people, even strangers. It’s the reason she uses the Force to save a girl from being crushed by bales of hay: the target on her head is simply an inconvenience. In the end, the stealthiness that makes Ahsoka good as the spy Fulcrum allows her to sneak away without the Empire noticing her.

Ahsoka and Padme both believe in a just and fair galaxy and mourning Padme makes her realize that she can play a part in achieving their shared vision. Taking out an Inquistor is a sign that Ahsoka has what it takes to make a huge dent in the Empire’s power, and eventually bring Democracy back. Ahsoka becomes a hero of the rebellion while carrying Padme’s memory with her.
