The Sanderson Sisters aren’t the only well-known family in Hocus Pocus 2 and, by extension, the original film. Part of what sets the films in motion is the history between the Sanderson Sisters and the Traske family. Why are they important? And above all else: who are the Traske family in Hocus Pocus 2? They’re an integral part of the story, to say the least.
Hocus Pocus 2 – Who Are the Traske Family? Answered
The Traske family, specifically Reverend Traske, is responsible for the deaths of the Sanderson Sisters, way back in the 1600s. With an angry mob at his side, Reverend Traske manages to capture the Sanderson Sisters and hang them for their crimes, the most recent victim at the time being Emily Binx.
The Traske family doesn’t make much of an appearance in the original film, but Hocus Pocus 2 does feature two descendants of Reverend Traske: Mayor Traske and his daughter, Cassie. In fact, Cassie follows in her ancestor’s footsteps and helps thwart the Sanderson Sisters’ plans once again, but with her own magic.
And that’s who the Traske family are in Hocus Pocus 2 and why they’re important to the films. For more on Hocus Pocus 2, find out here who the witch was in the opening scene or what the deal is with the zombie Billy Butcherson.
