Genshin Impact’s new Sumeru region is full of surprises: there are plenty of new artifacts, upgrade materials, and domains to complete. One of the new materials is Fungal Nucleus, which comes in Inactivated, Dormant, and Robust varieties. Here’s everything you need to get Inactivated Fungal Nucleus, Dormant Fungal Nucleus and Robust Fungal Nucleus in Genshin Impact.
How to Get All Fungal Nucleus Types in Genshin Impact, Explained
The process for collecting each type of Fungal Nucleus is the same, destroy Fungi around Sumeru. All levels of Fungi drop Inactivated Fungal Nucleus, while only level 40 or above drop Dormant Fungal Nucleus, and only level 60 and above drop Robust Fungal Nucleus — sometimes Fungi drop Fungal Spores instead so be patient.
There are a few areas with a dense concentration of Fungi to farm this material: in between Gandha Hill and The Chasm, northwest of Vanarana, and under Chinvat Ravine.
You can walk along the rim of the Chasm then turn right when you’re lined up with the ravine and farm lots of fungus by visiting both hotspots. There are usually clusters of Fungi located near rivers, so stick to the watery areas near Chinvat Ravine.
What Fungal Nuclei Are Used For in Genshin Impact
After farming every type of Fungal Nucleus, they can be used to ascend the Hunter’s Path Bow, the End of the Line Bow, and the King’s Squire Bow.
The Hunter’s Path Bow is one of the best bows in the game — it works great with the new Dendro characters — so use your nuclei to upgrade it first.
That’s everything we have on the location of Inactivated Fungal Nucleus, Dormant Fungal Nucleus, and Robust Fungal Nucleus. Check out some of our other Genshin Impact content like the Version 3.1 release, this Impact Quest guide, and the new Genshin Impact Anime.
