While the Resident Evil games themselves have been pretty great across the board so far, the same can’t be said for its numerous movie adaptations. This time, however, Netflix is trying its hand at a TV series adaptation of Capcom’s franchise. If you’re wondering when Netflix’s Resident Evil series is set to come out, here’s what you need to know.
When Does Netflix’s Resident Evil Come Out?
Netflix’s adaptation of Resident Evil is set to premiere on July 14, and as you might expect, it’ll be exclusive to Netflix’s streaming platform.
We don’t know all that much about the series’s plot, but here’s a brief synopsis detailing what you can expect:
“Year 2036 – 14 years after a deadly virus caused a global apocalypse, Jade Wesker fights for survival in a world overrun by the blood-thirsty infected and insane creatures. In this absolute carnage, Jade is haunted by her past in New Raccoon City, by her father’s chilling connections to the Umbrella Corporation but mostly by what happened to her sister, Billie.”
Albert Wesker himself will be played by Lance Reddick, who is most notable for his role in sci-fi series Fringe and the voice actor of Commander Zavala in Destiny.
It’s also worth noting that the series is being produced by Constantin Film, which worked on the Resident Evil movie series starring Milla Jovovich, which ran for way too long if you ask me. But hey, maybe this one will actually turn out to be good.
