Ah the Pokemon World Championships, the place in time where real-life trainers from all over the world from different age groups compete against one another to determine who will be the very best… sorry no I’m not going to say it… OK fine, like no one ever was! If you’re here, you’re probably wondering when are the 2022 Pokemon World Championships? Here’s everything you need to know.

2022 Pokemon World Championship Dates

The 2022 Pokemon World Championships will take place in London, England (fitting for Galar) on August 18-21. It will take place at the ExCel London events center. No word if this center will accommodate for Dynamxed and Gigamaxed Pokemon. There will be a variety of video games covered in the World Championships including Sword and Shield, Pokemon UNITE, Pokemon GO, and Pokken Tournament. The TCG World Championships will also take place during the event.

There three different age groups (Juniors, Seniors, Masters) across five different regions: US and Canada, Europe, Latin America, Oceania, and South Africa. For a full breakdown of the requirements, how much Championship Points you need for each age group and region and whether or not you might be qualified, you can visit the official page for the Pokemon World Championship requirements right here. Chance are though, if you have to ask, you probably didn’t qualify.

Japan and South Korea have their own separate ranking and invitation system for those wondering on that front.
