If you’re here, you’re likely wondering what is the box in Star Wars Andor? Well, you’ve come to the right place as we’re going to answer that very specific query down below. Before we jump in, quick spoiler warning for those who haven’t watched the show yet. Still here? Okay, here’s everything you need to know about that mysterious box.

What Is the Box That Cassian Andor Has in Star Wars Andor? Answered

After Cassian Andor’s altercation with two Imperial officers in the first episode – which ended with him putting them both six feet under – Andor is planning to make a quick exit off the planet that he currently resides, Ferrix. To achieve this, however, he’ll need to fork out the dough.

As a result, Andor ascertains a mysterious box and sets up a deal to sell it to Luthen Rael (portrayed by Stellan Skarsgård) for 40,000 Credits. But what’s the box?

Specifically, the box is an untraceable NS-9 Starpath Unit which is a navigation system used by spaceships in Star Wars. What’s truly special about this specific unit is that it can track every Imperial coordinate for nine parsecs.

This means that when a spaceship is fitted with this untraceable NS-9 Starpath unit, the ship will be largely invisible to Imperial radar and can slip by undetected by the Empire. In addition, the NS-9 Starpath Unit allows its users to see Imperial spaceships within a range of nine parsecs, which is pretty far in the world of Star Wars and handy for those who are trying to avoid bumping into the Imperial Army.

Where Is the Box From in Star Wars Andor?

In episode 3 of Star Wars Andor, we learn from Luthen Rael that the untraceable NS-9 Starpath Unit was allegedly stolen from an Imperial Naval base in Steergard.

So, that about wraps things up for now. Hopefully, this helped to clue you in on what the box in Star Wars Andor is.
