A Way Out: Should You Play as Vincent or Leo?

Playing as Vincent or Leo in A Way Out

Recommended Videos

A Way Out is a narrative-driven game with a twist. The co-op functionality is mandatory, so you can’t complete the game without a friend. Players will get to take control of one of two characters, Vincent and Leo. That being said, some players might be wondering who they should play as.

For most of the game, there’s really no difference in the story regardless of who plays Vincent or Leo. Both characters will be sticking together for the entire story, and you’ll always be able to see what the other player is up to since the game makes use of a constant dynamic split-screen feature. At some points in the story, Vincent might be tasked with distracting a couple of people while Leo sneaks around in an area to obtain a key item. Don’t worry, though, there’s plenty of gameplay variety to be shared between both players.

If you’re wondering about their personalities, Vincent is a level-headed and rational character who prefers not to use violence, while Leo is much more reckless and hot-headed.

Depending on how well each player performs in the final act of the game, you might get a different resolution to an endgame conflict, but that’s about the only difference that character choice makes.
