Call of Duty Warzone: What Special Weapons Are

As part of Call of Duty: Warzone Season 4, there are a number of new features and weapons for players to unlock. One such new weapon is the Nail Gun, and if you want to unlock it you’ll need to get eliminations with special weapons. The problem is, it’s never made entirely clear what Warzone special weapons are. The reason for this is because ‘Special’ weapons are a type that’s found in Black Ops Cold War, and not the Battle Royale mode. Here’s a complete list of all special weapons in Warzone.

All Special Weapons in Warzone

Special weapons are a type of secondary weapon in Black Ops Cold War. These weapons still exist in Warzone, but they’re split across different types instead, as there’s no ‘Special’ category.

There are four special weapons in Call of Duty: Warzone, listed below:

  • Ballistic Knife
  • M79 Grenade Launcher
  • Nail Gun
  • R1 Shadowhunter Crossbow

You should have most of these special weapons already unlocked if you’ve been playing Warzone (and Black Ops Cold War) quite a bit, aside from the Nail Gun.

To unlock the Nail Gun, players need to get 5 eliminations with special weapons in 15 different completed matches. This is pretty tough to do in basic Warzone matches, so you’re better off heading over to Black Ops Cold War multiplayer if you have access to it, as respawning will help you achieve 5 eliminations in a single match far easier.

Alternatively, you can always try Warzone’s Plunder mode, as this allows you to respawn upon death. Playing a few matches of Cold War’s Zombies mode will also do the trick, if you’ve got access to the game itself.
