Warzone: How to Get CX-9 SMG

cx-9 smg

If you’ve been playing Call of Duty: Warzone recently, you’ve likely noticed a number of players using a stupidly lethal SMG. The Warzone Serac SMG blueprint is the gun to be using right now, but currently, there’s no means of guaranteeing you can use it every round. In this guide, we’ll run you through how to get the CX-9 SMG in Warzone.

Find the Serac CX-9 Blueprint

The main way players are getting the CX-9 SMG in Warzone is by getting the Warzone Serac blueprint from a crate in a match.

Of course, this means you’re going to need to open a lot of crates and hope for the best. Crates are RNG-based, so there’s no guarantee you’ll get what you want from them.

Unlock the CX-9 in Modern Warfare

The CX-9 can be unlocked in Modern Warfare by completing the following challenge:

  • Get 2 Longshot Kills while using an SMG in 5 Different Matches

It’s worth pointing out that this isn’t the exact Serac SMG blueprint people are using in Warzone, this is just the base weapon. In addition to this, you’ll only be able to use this CX-9 SMG in the Survival mode of Modern Warfare.

With a bit of luck, an update will soon come to Warzone which will officially add the SMG into the game. Once this happens, if you’ve got the CX-9 unlocked in Modern Warfare, it should unlock in the battle royale title, too.

Buy the Upcoming Soap Operator Bundle

Back in December 2020, Cod.Tracker.GG picked up on an upcoming ‘Soap Operator Bundle’ which will include the Serac Legendary SMG blueprint.

It’ll cost 2,400 COD Points, and there’s no release date yet, however, so for now it’s just a case of waiting and hoping for the best.

That’s everything you need to know on getting the CX-9 in Modern Warfare. Now you’ll be able to shred through your opponents in Multiplayer and in Warzone with ease. For more on the game, check out our Modern Warfare wiki, or our Warzone wiki if Battle Royale’s more your stye.
