The Vigilance Wing Catalyst, like most others, are obtained primarily through RNG, in this case, via the Crucible. Playing and completing crucible matches can lead to getting the catalyst drop at the end of the match. Some players believe that where you rank in the score can impact the drop rate, which is possible we suppose, but it’s most likely just purely random like most things in Destiny 2. After obtaining it, you’ll need to complete a challenge to unlock its perks.
The exotic masterwork catalyst for Vigilance Wing adds a slight stat boost and the ability to generate additional orbs, but most importantly, it enables a full auto option for Vigilance Wing. This turns the weapon into an auto/pulse hybrid of sorts. You enable this by holding the fire button instead of tapping it like you normally would for a pulse rifle.
