How to Upgrade Your Skills in Vampyr
Just like you, Dr. Reid is only just getting used to being a vampire, and he’s got quite a bit to learn before he fulfills his potential. As with any good RPG, Vampyr presents players with a whole stack of abilities and skills to upgrade throughout the game. You’ll be able to shape Reid’s vampirical skills according to the sort of playstyle you prefer by spending XP on each skill. But things work a little differently in Vampyr.
To upgrade your skills in Vampyr, you’ll need to rest at a bed in one of the hideouts scattered across the semi-open world. There’s one in each borough, and they typically have two points of access. You’ll need to unlock them from the front door before using the rear side, though. All you’ll need to do is rest at the bed and choose the abilities you want to upgrade. Hold X (PS4) or A (Xbox One) button down to pour XP into that particular skill until it unlocks. Then hit confirm.
Be warned, though, upgrading your skills moves time forward one night, and any decisions you’ve made that evening will bare consequence on the overall dynamic of London. NPCs may fall ill, or die completely as a result of your choices, and various quests and plot lines might be lost. Think carefully before resting.
