Is Vampyr Episodic Like Life is Strange?

Dontnod Entertainment is best known for its story-driven adventure series, Life is Strange. The acclaimed tale about a group of young teens growing up in North California is a sharp contrast to vampire-infested 1918 London. And that difference in narrative tone extends to the entire game design, too – Vampyr is a 20 hour-or-so action RPG where Life is Strange is an episodic series comprising of five episodes, each around the same number of hours in length.

If you were wondering whether Vampyr was a single cohesive experience, the answer is yes. It is not episodic like Life is Strange. The story very much has a beginning, middle, and end. As yet, there is no planned sequel that has been announced.

What Vampyr does adopt from Life is Strange is the same emphasis on branching narrative depending on player choice. Every action in the game has a consequence that directly shapes the world around you, and there are multiple storylines for each NPC that will flourish in different ways depending on how you choose to interact with them.

That’s all you need to know about whether Vampyr is episodic. For more information and guides on the game, check out our wiki page.
