5 Things to Do After Beating Minecraft Dungeons (Post Game/ End Game)

Adventure & Apocalypse Difficulties

If you’ve only just finished your first playthrough of Minecraft Dungeons on the ‘Default’ difficulty, then you’ve still got a fair bit of grinding to go if you want to truly complete the game.

Upon defeating the Arch-Illager on ‘Default’ difficulty, players will then unlock the ‘Adventure’ and ‘Apocalypse’ difficulties. This not only makes enemies deal more damage and soak it up more effectively, but you’ll also be taking on more of them.

To reward you for taking on the tougher challenge, you’ll also have the chance of netting previously unattainable gear and artifacts. These will also be of a higher level than you’ll get them dropping on ‘Default.’

Grinding Out the Best Gear, Enchantments & Artifacts

Just because you’ve finished playing through Minecraft Dungeons’ story on the Apocalypse difficulty, it doesn’t mean you’ve necessarily got the best gear.

Take some time to identify your kind of playstyle, what Artifacts would compliment this, and the enchantments that you’d ideally want on your gear. Salvage old equipment and get investing those Enchantment Points into your new, powerful gear.

In other words, you want to make yourself the strongest Hero that’s ever graced this blocky world. Once you’ve finally got your Hero to the max level cap of 55 and with a badass loadout, you can begin to rest easy.

Playing Through It With Others

Having spent a lot of my time with Minecraft Dungeons playing through its levels on my own, it’s been a breath of fresh air playing it with friends. The game’s difficulty will ramp up the action in-line with the number of players in your party, so you can always expect a suitable level of challenge.

While you may be done playing through the game’s story, playing with friends can be a great way to catch up and grind out that perfect loadout we previously mentioned.

Find All Rune Locations & Unlock the Secret Level

Upon completing Minecraft Dungeons on ‘Default’ difficulty, you’ll then gain access to the Cathedral in your Camp. This is accessed by hopping onto the jump pads that south of the farm.

Inside you’ll find a number of portraits, as well as one you can interact with alongside a golden button at the very back.

This all plays into the secret runes that can be found in each level, and finding all nine of these will then unlock Minecraft Dungeons’ secret level which includes murdering a load of cows. Sound like fun? Be sure to check back soon as we’ll have a guide running you through all rune locations to help you unlock this.

If you fancy the challenge on your own, though, you better get searching those levels.

Get Any Remaining Trophies/ Achievements

If you’ve still not unlocked every single trophy or achievement on offer in Minecraft Dungeons, then this is the best way to spend some more time in the game while we wait for the two downloadable content drops coming in the near future.

Achievements like ‘Maxed Out and Geared Up’ and ‘Oooh! Shiny!’ will take some grinding to achieve, but you’ll make good progress towards them by simply playing through the story on all three difficulty settings.

There you have everything you need to know on what you should do after beating Minecraft Dungeons. For more tips, tricks, and guides, head over to Twinfinite, or check out more of our coverage below.
