As you’ve probably gathered, Luma is just Temtem’s equivalent of Shiny Pokemon. When you encounter the Temtem or send them out to battle, stars will come off them and their color will be different, just like the glow in Pokemon.

How to Get Luma Temtem (Shiny)

Getting them works in pretty much the same way too. You need to head out into the wild and try to catch Temtem as you usually would, keeping your fingers crossed that a Luma one pops up.

However, it’s not something you’re likely to see. A Luma Temtem appearing has the odds of one in every 6000, so you’re going to have to grind for a long time, unless you’re ridiculously lucky.

There’s one other way to get Luma Temtem though, but it doesn’t really increase your odds. If you breed with two regular Temtem, you have the same odds of getting a Luma as a result, as you do encountering one in the wild.

However, if one of the Temtem is Luma already, the odds are reduced ten-fold, to one in 600. If both are Luma, it’s down to one in 60. However, getting to the point where those odds are yours to take advantage of, you need to have been lucky enough to get a Luma version or two in the first place.

If you’re not familiar with the breeding process already, you need to find the game’s Breeding Center, which is on Route 5, the Temtem need to be different genders, and they need to be fertile (which is shown by the flower on your Tempedia by their name).

You can then speak to the breeder there and follow the steps to getting a new Pokemon that could be Luma.

In short, there are two ways to get Luma (Shiny) Temtem

  1. Catch them in the wild, with the odds of encountering them being 1/6000.

  2. Breed two of the same Temtem in hopes of getting one.
