How to Beat King Boo in Super Mario Sunshine in Mario 3D All Stars

King Boo is one of the last few bosses that Mario has to takedown in Sunshine and he’s not too difficult once you get the hang of all his sneaky roulette tricks.

To start things off, King Boo is not a huge fan of spicy food, which is the key to your success here.

Once the slot machine pops up, go ahead and spray water on the king so you can try your hand on the slots. If the slots end up matching with three pieces of fruit, you’re in luck because this is what you will need to damage him.

Fruit will fly all over the stage and you will want to immediately pick up that red hot pepper and fling it right into King Boo’s big ol’ mouth. He’ll open up his mouth in pain and all you need to do is pick up any of the other fruits and fling it at him.

Just repeat this process three times and you’ll have that Shine Sprite in no time flat. There are just some things you want to be on the lookout for though.

If the slots end up landing on any of the question marks, a random assortment of enemies will pop up, so make sure to defeat them or avoid them until they disappear. If the slots land on the gold coins, you’ll get some coins (pretty self-explanatory).

So just wait until the fruit icons match up, throw a hot pepper, and then throw some fruit. That’s really all there is to finishing this boss fight.

Hopefully, this helped you figure out how to beat King Boo in Super Mario Sunshine. If you’re in need of even more tips and tricks, be sure to check out our extensive Guide Wiki that covers all three games in the Mario 3D All Stars collection.
