Super Mario Odyssey: How to Increase Your Health

HOW TO INCREASE YOUR HEALTH IN SUPER MARIO ODYSSEY

Recommended Videos

Super Mario Odyssey not only brings a host of exciting new additions to 3D Mario gameplay, but it also shakes up a fundamental system that has been present in the series since the very first NES classics: power-ups no longer relate to health. In previous Mario games, the power-up system was based around Mario taking mushrooms to make him bigger and able to take an additional strike of damage. Too many hits would bring about the “Game Over” screen. Super Mario Odyssey works totally differently, introducing a health system that revolves around hearts which, once depleted, won’t initiate a Game Over, instead returning players to a checkpoint and docking coins from their total.

Players can exchange coins for Life-Up Hearts at any point during gameplay across any of the Kingdoms at the Crazy Cap store. These stores are located at the start of each Kingdom, stocking a range of different costumes and items. The cost of a Life-Up Heart at the Crazy Cap store is 50 Yellow coins.

You now have all the information you need in order to purchase additional hearts and increase your health in Super Mario Odyssey. For more useful information on the game, check out our wiki page.
