How to Get Gold Mario in Super Mario Odyssey

Recommended Videos

Super Mario Odyssey has a delightful variety of outfits and costumes for players to unlock as they travel to new kingdoms. Almost any version of Mario you could have ever wanted to see is available for you in the latest Super Mario game. Samurai Mario? He’s there. Cowboy Mario? Got that too. Clown Mario? Yep. And if you’re thinking they couldn’t possibly have Mario stripped down to nothing but his boxers, Nintendo has a half-naked surprise for you. All the new costumes in Super Mario Odyssey are a ton of fun but if you’re really just looking for a chance to bring Gold Mario back into your life, Super Mario Odyssey has you covered.

The first way to bring Gold Mario into the game is by simply scanning the Gold Mario amiibo. If you don’t have the amiibo, however, there’s no need to lose hope. You can still unlocked the costume by getting a total of 520 Power Moons and a total of 3,000 coins. If you just want the suit without the matching cap, however, you’ll just need 500 Power Moons and 2000 coins. Just remember that even if you have all these requirements, the Gold Mario costume still won’t pop up in any stores if you haven’t completed Super Mario Odyssey’s story first.
