If you’ve been playing the new sequel to Subnautica, Below Zero, then you’ve likely been enjoying the new craftable items and their uses. Some of them require ingredients not seen before, such as the Cold Suit. It requires Snow Stalker Fur, loot dropped by new maritime predators in Below Zero. Here’s how to get Snow Stalker Fur in Subnautica: Below Zero.
How to Get Snow Stalker Fur in Subnautica
There are a couple of ways to obtain the fur in Subnautica. One way requires direct interaction (intimdating, we know), while the other is more about exploration.
If you’re near any Snow Stalkers, make sure to have a Spy Pengling ready. You can use this little guy to interact with the Snow Stalker and obtain its fur. Simply head between west and southwest on your compass from your Drop Pod. You’ll reach a dock that leads into the new Glacial Basin biome, where you can find Snow Stalkers.
Once you locate one, deploy your Spy Pengling and select “Attempt to collect fur” when you are close enough. Then you need to rush over to your Spy Pengling, collect the fur from its storage, and get away from the beast.
If you’d rather just find it, you can also look in caves around the same Glacial Basin area as it can be sometimes found there.
What to Craft With Snow Stalker Fur
Once you get the fur, you might be wondering what to do with it. Chances are more likely that you already know what to use it for, however– the Cold Suit. You can find the three blueprints necessary for a complete suit by scanning their fragments in the Phi Robotics Center. This is located within the Glacial Basin where you find the fur needed as well.
For all three pieces of the Cod Suit you’ll need 4 Snow Stalker Furs and 4 Fiber Meshes. To craft each part, you just need to use the Fabricator.
