State of Decay 2: How to Get Influence Fast

How to Get Influence Fast in State of Decay 2

Recommended Videos

Influence is essentially your currency in State of Decay 2 that you’ll need if you want to acquire outposts, move bases, trade with other groups of survivors, or use some of your Radio requests. Basically, you want Influence… a lot of it. Here’s what you need to know to get Influence fast in State of Decay 2.

First off, the most obvious way to get Influence fast in State of Decay 2 is to go about completing missions and quelling the zombie threat as best as possible. This doesn’t mean just going about completing the character-specific missions you get, but also by taking out any zombie hordes, special zombies like Shriekers, Bloaters, and Juggernauts, or clearing out infestations. All of these are marked on your map when they appear, so don’t hesitate in completing these. They don’t give you as much Influence as other methods, but it all adds up.

What we found to be the best way of getting Influence fast is to get friendly with the other Enclaves and really build up your supplies. You can then take bags from your Storage with the Withdraw a Rucksack option when you interact with it, and trade them with other survivors by going out to visit them, pressing Y and selecting the option to trade. Then, select the bag of supplies from your inventory and press A to sell it to them. These can bring in a good couple hundred, which is incredibly handy during the early stages of State of Decay 2. The very best item you can trade with other Enclaves is to sell batch packs of the blood plague cure. You’ll need a bunch of blood plague samples and a level 2 Infirmary to craft it, but selling this can net you more than enough Influence for an outpost or two in State of Decay 2.

Plague Hearts are essentially your main targets in State of Decay 2, and clearing these out rewards you with a nice little chunk of Influence too. They also tend to be located at Outposts that’ll bring in some added resources, so be sure to take control of these to bolster your supplies for even more trading in the future.

Finally, we also found that helping out other survivors, be it escorting them on a scavenging mission, or helping them talk out a dispute with others tended to bring in some Influence, and also makes other groups friendlier towards you (as long as you deal with them the right way). Not only do you get Influence, but they’ll also offer up their assistance when you’re in a tight spot in the future, so it’s a win-win situation.

We’ll continue to update this post with more and more ways to get fast Influence in State of Decay 2. For now, though, be sure to check out our wiki for more tips, tricks, and guides on State of Decay 2.
