Energy in Stardew Valley

Energy is the bar on the bottom right-hand corner of the screen in Stardew Valley. It goes down as you do laborious activities. These include:

  • Using your pickaxe
  • Using your watering can
  • Using your axe
  • Using your fishing pole
  • Using your weapon
  • Using your hoe
  • Eating food with negative energy

Energy can be a real pain in the butt as you’re trying to get as much done possible within a day. Not only will being out too late lead to you spontaneously dropping in tiredness, but losing all your energy will do that, too. The effects are the same, and they suck, so you definitely want to avoid getting too tired. Of course, there’s a way to increase this bar up.

How to Increase Energy in Stardew Valley

The best ways to increase energy once you’ve depleted it is by eating food or going to sleep. The only way to permanently increase your energy is by eating a Stardrop, up to a maximum of 508 energy (you start with 270). Here are some of the ways to get a Stardrop fruit:

  • Buy one for 2,000 stars at the Stardew Valley Fair in the Fall
  • Get to level 100 in the Mines
  • Randomly given to you by your spouse
  • Sold by Krobus in the sewers (20,000 coins)
  • Give Old Master Cannoli a Sweet Gem Berry in the Secret Woods
  • Get the Master Angler Achievement and Willy will give you one
  • Donate all 95 items to the Museum and you’ll get it as a reward

Getting them all will get you closer to that maximum energy level. It’s really worth seeking them out, as having a ton of energy will let you get a whole lot more done. However, don’t actively stress it. They’ll come with a bit of work and time.
