STARDEW VALLEY

Stardew Valley has a ton of crafting options. Don’t believe us? Check out the full guide for that over here. You might notice there are a ton that require copper, iron, and gold bars. These aren’t so easy to get a hold of; you won’t be foraging for them.

Copper, Iron, and Gold ores can all be found out in the mines through the different colored rocks. The odds of getting them through these are heightened than when you pickaxe any other rocks, however, there is still a chance you won’t get anything but stones. Besides the mines, you have a chance of getting any of them from the special chests while fishing. If you have a lot of coins saved up, you can also head over to the Blacksmith to buy a bunch of ores from him. This can be very pricey, though. But it’s the best option to guarantee you’ll get the ores you need, as fast as possible.

Oh, and be sure to have an ample stock of coal, too.

How to Smelt Copper, Iron, and Gold in Stardew Valley

STARDEW VALLEY

It’s important to note that besides copper, iron, and gold, you can also smelt Quartz and Iridium into bars. Before you’re able to smelt anything in Stardew Valley, though,  you’re going to have to craft the Furnace for your farm. This will cost you 25 stones and 20 copper ores. You have to spend ores to get bars, you know the saying!

Once you have one (or however many you deem appropriate for production) set in your farm, you just have to be holding five of whatever ores and have coal in your inventory in order to smelt. Go up to the furnace and interact with it while holding the ores and in due time you will have yourself a bar smelted. Copper bars take half an hour, iron bars are two hours, gold bars are five hours, refined quartz are one and a half hours, and an iridium bar is eight hours. This is why it might be smart to invest in multiple furnaces for the sake of production.

There you have it, all the bars you can want to craft up a storm! Check out our Stardew Valley wiki guide for more help with the game.
