Sniper Elite 4: How to Do Melee Takedowns

How to Perform Melee Takedowns – SNIPER ELITE 4

Recommended Videos

While the Sniper Elite franchise is undoubtedly known for its signature slow-motion sniper kill cams, Sniper Elite 4 kicks it up a notch by also introducing kill cams for melee takedowns. And while these are still nowhere near as glorious as the sniper kills, there are few things quite so satisfying as seeing your character eliminate a target with their bare hands.

You can perform these melee takedowns by getting close to the enemies in the game, and pressing Y on the Xbox One or Triangle on PS4 when the button prompt appears. If pulled off without the enemy noticing you beforehand, this action makes absolutely no noise and surrounding enemies are none the wiser.

If the enemy, however, manages to notice you before you actually initiate the takedown on them, then what follows is a slightly longer scripted fight sequence. And while this also ends in the enemy getting killed by the player, it results in a lot of noise being generated, immediately sending the surrounding soldiers into an alerted state.

While performing melee takedowns, players are also very vulnerable, and can very easily be spotted from far away. With that in mind, it is also generally a good idea to isolate the enemy you wish to kill.

That’s all you need to do to perform melee takedowns in Sniper Elite 4. For more tips, tricks, and information on Sniper Elite 4, be sure to check back with Twinfinite.
