Skyrim: How to Duplicate Items

HOW TO DUPLICATE ITEMS IN SKYRIM

Recommended Videos

Crafting plays a huge role in Skyrim, as does the collection of various resources, including countless different materials that can be combined or broken down to be used or sold. Finding and harvesting these materials can take a significant amount of time, forcing players to scavenge the world of Tamriel for hours looking for rare drops. But there is a trick that can save you a lot of time in the back and forth, assuming that you don’t mind taking advantage of a glitch.

Players can duplicate items quickly in Skyrim by following these simple steps:

For console players, grab one of your followers and enter a building. Drop the items you wish to duplicate inside of a building, preferably by the front door to save time. You must drop the items one at a time. For example, if you want to duplicate 30 gold ingots, you must drop each gold ingot individually. Through the follower commands in Skyrim, command your follower to pick up the items, then exit the building. When you re-enter the building, the duplicate versions of the items will be on the floor where you dropped the original items.

Note that this doesn’t always work and you won’t duplicate the exact number of items dropped. Just repeat the process until you have what you want.

Skyrim PC players have it much easier, simply requiring you to enter a console command. To do this, put an item into any kind of storage like a chest or dead animal, it works with all kinds. Now, open the command console (~ key) and with the cursor select the chest or whatever storage you have put your items into and an ID number will appear. Type the command: duplicateallitems (enter ID number).
