The Sims 4: Parenthood introduces Character Values into your toddler, child, and teen sims’ lives. These will be bolstered (or depleted) and in the end it will lead to your sim either having a positive or negative trait depending on which ones are maxed out. Manners are one of the five values that your parent sims will be able to teach their child sims. Having it positively maxed will lead to the Good Manners trait, and having it maxed negatively will lead to the Bad Manners trait.
Raising Manners
Here are the different ways that you can raise your sim’s manners:
- Friendly interactions and giving compliments
- Setting the table
- Cleaning dishes
- Having parents teach to say Please and Thank You.
- Selecting certain Teachable Moments options
- Selecting certain options during Volunteering or School opportunities
Manners is actually really easy to raise up. Just have your sim constantly set the table whenever there’s a missing placemat, and having them always clean up the dishes.
Lowering Manners
Lowering your sim’s manners is also fairly easy:
- Burp or fart
- Swear
- Do rude interactions
- Take clothes off in public (for toddlers)
- Selecting certain Teachable Moments options
- Selecting certain options during Volunteering or School opportunities
If you want the fastest route to the Bad Manners trait, just keep burping and farting up a storm.
