Sims 4 Cottage Living: How To Befriend Wild Animals

The Sims 4 Cottage Living introduces a lot of new animals to the series, including domesticated farm ones as well as more wild ones like birds and rabbits. Players new to the pack could be wondering how exactly they go about befriending these more feral animals as it isn’t as simple as buying their home and placing it on a Sim’s lot. To befriend a wild animal, your Sim will have to put a little more effort in.

Befriend Wild Animals in Sims 4 Cottage Living

Never fear the birds and their poop, though! We’ve made a guide to show you how to befriend wild animals in The Sims 4 Cottage Living.

Birds

Birds are a unique group of animals in The Sims 4, because they are just that– a group. When your Sim befriends birds, they will not be befriending a single bird but rather multiple birds.

To build a relationship with the flock, your Sim will need to interact with them and give them gifts. Certain animals will have favorite gifts, so be sure to keep track of that. Your Sims will be able to sing with the birds, but beware of a poopy outcome if the birds dislike the singing. If they like it, your Sims will be rewarded with strong, positive buffs.

Foxes

Befriending foxes is pretty much the same as befriending the other animals. Your Sims simply have to engage in social interactions with them or give them gifts, and the relationship will build over time.

The thing that makes befriending foxes unique is what you can ask of them after your Sims have a good enough relationship with them. You can ask them to not steal. In other words, you can keep your chickens a little bit safer via this interaction. Be sure to make use of this if you are running the new fox lot challenge!

Rabbits

You know how to befriend animals pretty well by now, but there is one wild animal left to cover. Rabbits! To befriend these fuzzy babies, you will need to interact with them and give them gifts. Once your Sim builds enough of a relationship with a rabbit, you will be able to place their home on your lot. They will scare away rabbits, so it’s another good animal to befriend if you plan on taking on the new lot challenge with foxes.
