Can You Change Hairstyle in Shadow of the Tomb Raider? What You Need to Know

Recommended Videos

Lara Croft has been an iconic protagonist in video games for quite some time now, always with her long, dark hair flowing behind her as she solves tricky puzzles and uncovers ancient mysteries. Shadow of the Tomb Raider is the final chapter of Lara Croft’s rebooted series, following on from 2015’s Rise of the Tomb Raider. While there’s obviously the whole saving the world from a Mayan apocalypse thing to worry about while you’re playing through Shadow of the Tomb Raider, you might also be wondering whether it’s possible to change hairstyle for Lara. After all, that long, loose hair can’t be practical when you’re exploring booby-trapped caves and crypts, right?

Well, unfortunately, you can’t change hairstyle in Shadow of the Tomb Raider, at least, not in the traditional sense. There aren’t specific, different hairstyles to sift through, but you can change Lara Croft’s appearance almost entirely.

It turns out that Crystal Dynamics has just as much love for Lara from the past entries in the series as its current reboot Lara. There are four different versions of herself from over the years, each of which has a slightly different hairstyle. It’s not quite the same variety as having long hair, a buzz cut, and a mohawk or something, but it’s better than nothing. If anything, the hairstyle is the least exciting part of these different versions of Lara in Shadow of the Tomb Raider, so they’re well worth checking out either way.

To change to one of Lara’s old styles, you’ll need to head to a base camp, access your inventory, and select Outfits. From here, you’ll want to head into the ‘Full Body’ outfits, and you’ll now have access to all the previous Laras.

And that’s all you need to know about whether or not you can change hairstyle in Shadow of the Tomb Raider. It might not be the answer you hoped for, but it would be kinda weird to see Lara rocking any other kind of hairstyle. For more tips, tricks, and guides on the game, be sure to check out our wiki.
