What the Preload & Unlock Times Are for Sekiro
The latest action game from From Software is finally about to release, and it takes us to the Sengoku period. Fans of the studio’s previous game are likely extremely excited and will want to jump in as soon as possible. So that you’re prepared for release, here’s everything you need to know about what the preload and unlock times are for Sekiro Shadows Die Twice.
Preload Times
If you’re planning on picking Sekiro up on console (PlayStation 4 or Xbox One) then you can actually begin preloading right now. As of the time of writing (March 18), the ability to do so on both systems is already live.
You’ll also be pleased to hear that the install sizes you need to download before you unlock it are relatively small on both consoles. There’s no 50GB day one update or 90 GB install here, like for The Division 2.
When you preload From Software’s new game, you’ll see that it comes in between 12 and 18 GBs depending on the platform you’re on.
If you’re playing Sekiro on PC, though, preload isn’t currently live. Also, FromSoftware hasn’t released any information on the preload times. Chances are, preload on PC will begin one or two days prior to the game’s official release on March 22, so be sure to have Steam open and at the ready.
Sekiro Unlock Times
As for when you’ll actually be able to start playing Sekiro, FromSoftware is also yet to release any official information on the game’s unlock times.
However, it is likely that it will simply be midnight your local time, just as is the case for most AAA games nowadays. Of course, we’ll be sure to update you here once that’s confirmed, though.
That’s everything you need to know about what the preload and unlock times are for Sekiro Shadows Die Twice. For more tips and tricks on the game once it’s released, check out our wiki guide or search for Twinfinite.
