Resident Evil Village has finally arrived, bringing the latest entry in Capcom’s horror series to the Xbox One, PC, PS4, PS5 and Series X|S. Powered by the new RE Engine, the game looks absolutely stunning on new-gen consoles, and the cutscenes are a prime example of how the developer has put all that extra horsepower and their engine to work. But if you’re not interested in the story or you just want to get right back to the action on a second (or third) playthrough, you’ll probably just want to skip the cutscenes.
Skipping Cutscenes
To skip cutscenes in Resident Evil Village, press the Options/ Menu button and then select the ‘Skip’ option. Doing so will cause the screen to briefly fade to black before putting you back in control of Ethan to carry on your adventure.
What we would say is that for at least your first playthrough, you should sit back and enjoy the cutscenes when they pop-up in Resident Evil Village.
Staying true to the series, the story here can be a little convoluted and nonsensical, but die-hard fans are sure to find some little nods and tidbits of information that feed into the overarching story and lore of the Resident Evil world.
Can You Skip Dialogue in Resident Evil Village?
If you’re finding Ethan’s rather awful and awkward running commentary a little too cringey, unfortunately there’s no way you can skip through these sections, or silence him. Instead, you’ve just got to listen to him as you’re busy exploring the village. At least it acts as a little bit of comic relief amidst all the jump scares and scary moments, though!
