While most of Resident Evil Village‘s boss fights boil down to hammering away at the boss’ weak points, one, in particular, requires you to think outside the box. We’re talking, of course, about the battle with Lord Donna Beneviento, and if you’re struggling to figure out how to beat Donna Beneviento’s Puppets in Resident Evil Village, you’re far from the first to have this problem.
That’s why we’ve created this guide on the subject. Below you’ll find a detailed walkthrough on how to track down and deal with the leader of these pesky supernatural blocks of wood.
How to Beat Donna’s Puppets in Resident Evil Village
To start, it’s worth noting that the boss fight against Lord Donna and her puppets is more of a hide-and-seek puzzle than a flat-out brawl.
Instead of fighting a huge monster or mutated version of the Lords, you’ll need to track down Angie, the bride puppet Donna usually keeps with her. This is the nerve center she controls all the other puppets through, and destroying it will leave her powerless.
The only problem is, the puppet will change locations for each phase of the boss fight, and you’ll need to track it down three times before you can kill it. Fortunately, it always shows up in the same places for each phase.
Once the boss fight starts, head toward the bedroom on the upper floor of House Beneviento. It’ll have a green bed on the right side of the room, and Donna’s doll will be at the center of the room. Interact with the doll, and Ethan will stab it in the head.
After that, Donna’s puppet will run downstairs. Head down to the first floor, then head over to the window next to a cabinet and a chair. It’ll be located to the left of the fireplace in the dining area. The bride doll will be tucked into a space between the cabinet and the wall. Interact with the doll to stab it again, and it’ll then run further into the house.
After this occurs, head to the elevator entrance at the rear of the house. The bride doll will be sitting to the right of the elevator grate. Interact with it, and Ethan will deal a finishing blow.
After dealing the finishing blow, a cutscene will trigger and you’ll be able to leave House Beneviento. You’ll also be able to retrieve Angie’s true body – which counts as a Very Valuable treasure – and another piece of Rose that’s needed to advance the plot.
