Resident Evil 7: How to Get Repair Kits and Fix Broken Guns

Repair Kit – Resident Evil 7: Biohazard

Recommended Videos

While playing Resident Evil 7 you’ll come across seemingly useless items that are just broken weapons. There’s a Broken Handgun that you find in the trailer after finally freeing yourself from the Bakers’ main residence. Then there’s the Broken Shotgun you find in Grandma’s Room and exchange in the main hall for the M37. Both can actually be repaired, granting you the M19 Handgun and the M21 Shotgun, respectively. To do so, you’ll need to find and use the Repair Kit hidden in the game.

In order to obtain the Repair Kit, you’ll need to progress quite a ways through Resident Evil 7. You’ll have to be able to access the Testing Area, which requires the red and blue keycards that Lucas Baker will instruct you to collect. You’ll also need the Treasure Photo located outside of the Greenhouse where you confront Marguerite. Just search the railing at the bottom of the steps.

Once you’ve have that photo and have access to the Testing Area, you’re ready. Head up to the second floor of the Testing Area, and search the top right corner of the map. It will be a room with shelves. One of the shelves has a mannequin head with a blue cap on it. Interact with that to get the Repair Kit.

Now that you have it, simply combine it with one of the broken weapons to get its true form. Do note that this Repair Kit can only be used once, and it’s the only one we’ve found in our playthroughs. If we find a second one, we’ll be sure to update this guide.
