Red Dead Redemption 2 is probably the most anticipated game of 2018, and for good reason, too. While playing through the game, if you’re wondering how to switch to the first person camera mode in Red Dead Redemption 2, here’s what you need to know.
How to Switch to First Person Mode in Red Dead Redemption 2
Red Dead Redemption 2, much like Grand Theft Auto V before it, features a first person mode, allowing players to explore the Frontier as they wish. Gunplay, horse-riding, and even conversations with NPCs are all built with first and third-person in mind.
To switch to first person mode, press the touchpad on PlayStation 4, or the View button on Xbox One. Touching this button cycles through all the different views in the game. Stop when you reach first person, so you can enjoy Red Dead Redemption 2 in full immersion. Don’t hold down the button, however, as this will place you in cinematic view mode.
When you’re out on long horse rides with your gang members, it might be good idea to go to cinematic mode as well. This gives you a good view of the game’s gorgeous environments, and also adds to the overall immersion.
How to Switch Back to Third Person View in Red Dead Redemption 2
To switch back, press the touchpad on PlayStation 4 or the View button on Xbox One. This will cycle back through all the possible views back to your preferred position. Again, don’t hold the button down, as this will initiate Red Dead Redemption 2’s cinematic mode.
Is There A Trophy & Achievement?
There is no achievement or trophy for staying in first person for the entirety of the game, nor are there any specific challenges. It is unknown if any will be added with future DLC at this time.
