Red Dead Online shares most all of Red Dead Redemption 2’s hyper realistic features, including the ability to gain and lose weight. If you’re struggling to pack on the pounds or shed a few after you do, we’re here to help with a guide on how to gain weight, get fat and lose weight in Red Dead Online.

How to Gain Weight

Like in Red Dead Redemption 2, characters in Red Dead Online gain and lose weight based on how much or how little they eat. Different weights have different benefits to consider as well: A higher weight increases health and decreases stamina, while a low weight results in the reverse.

To gain weight in Red Dead Online, they need to eat regularly and take larger helpings when they do. This means stopping to have a meal at regular intervals during play, and eating multiple items instead of just what is needed to replenish your cores. As such, you’ll need to stay stocked up on food and keep shoveling it down your gullet.

How to Get Fat

If you’re looking to really add on some weight, then keep this process up for as long as possible. You can also increase the amount of meals you eat in a day, though maintaining it will mean staying flush with cash to afford the constant food expenditures.

This will increase the buff to health you receive, though it will also decrease your stamina quite a bit.

How to Lose Weight

If you find yourself ready to slim down, it’s as simple as cutting back on how much you eat while you play. Instead of eating bucket loads of food, eat only what you need to restore your cores.

This should reduce your weight over time, and before long your Red Dead Online character will be back to their slim and trim figure. They’ll also enjoy better endurance and stamina regeneration, though this will come at the cost of losing their high weight health buff.

Hopefully this clears up how to gain weight, get fat and lose weight in Red Dead Online. Red Dead Redemption 2 is currently available on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. For more on the game’s online and offline features, check out our Red Dead Redemption 2 wiki for everything you’ll need to know.
