Prey: How to Open Airlocks and What They Do

Opening and Using Airlocks in Prey

Recommended Videos

There are multiple airlocks that you can access in Prey. As the game doesn’t have any sort of fast travel option, the airlocks will be your best method of getting around the Talos I space station quickly and efficiently. First off, the most important thing to be aware of is that you can only open an airlock from inside the space station, and not from outside. This means that after you attach the propulsion jet to your suit and venture into outer space for the first time, you won’t be able to access any of the locked airlocks that you come across.

However, once you access an airlock from inside the station, that airlock will be open to you whenever you’re in space. This means that you don’t have to spend the entire game walking around the space station. If you need to get somewhere fast, simply head to the nearest airlock, and then make your way to your desired location through outer space. You’ll often find human corpses floating around in space as well, and you can loot them for materials.
