How to Heal in Prey
As you explore the Talos I in Prey, you’ll come face to face with the hostile Typhon. This alien species won’t make completing your mission easy, so you’ll likely need to heal every once in a while in Prey.
Fortunately, it’s easy enough to heal in Prey. All you need to do is make sure that you have a Medkit in your inventory. These will restore 30 health points when used and are the best healing item you’ll come across. To use them, you can either consume them from your inventory by pressing Square/ X or hold Triangle/ Y to open the Favorites menu and use R2/ RT to consume one. This is particularly convenient if you don’t want to keep jumping in and out of your inventory. If you don’t have any Medkits, keep an eye out for boxes with a pulse symbol on the wall. These usually have a Medkit stashed away below.
You can also heal in Prey by consuming food items from your inventory. These are used in the same way that Medkits are, but these cannot be consumed from the Favorites menu.
If you’re really struggling for health in Prey, keep an eye out for water fountains, sinks, or anything else that could dispense water. If you head over to these and interact with them, you’ll restore 2 health points. This may not seem like a lot, but give the game a few seconds and you can do it again. There’s no limit to the number of times you can drink water from a water fountain, but it will take a long to replenish your health bar by doing this alone. Still, it could be enough to save you from an untimely death in Prey.
