As is often the case, there are several avenues you can take in order to power up your little pals. We will go through the most efficient of these below.

How to Get XP & Level Up Fast in Pokemon Sword & Shield

The most tried and true method is, of course, engaging trainers and wild Pokemon in battle. Each encounter with an opponent of an appropriate level yields a very generous amount of experience.

In Sword & Shield, experience is shared between everyone in your active party, so bringing along under-leveled party members will increase their level just by being around.

In this manner, you can lead with a powerful Pokemon, and level the other five in relative safety.

Max Raid Battles

In a Max Raid battle, you fight alongside other trainers in an attempt to overcome a Dynamx or Gigantamax Pokemon, something that is no mean feat.

If you are victorious, you will be rewarded with EXP Candy. Once consumed, EXP Candy grants a one-time bonus amount of experience to a Pokemon.

EXP Candy come in several different sizes, from S to XL, with the larger yielding bigger rewards.

Poke Jobs

Poke Jobs are another new feature, one that allows you to release a Pokemon from your party for a while in order to aid an NPC.

Different jobs will yield different amounts of experience, depending on the Pokemon completing them. It’s a fantastic way to level up a seventh Pokemon, as you focus on the six in your party.

You can undertake Poke Jobs at the Rotomi machine, which can be found inside Pokemon centers.

Cooking Curry

Each of your cuddly companions has their own quite unique palate and will appreciate some flavors more than others.

While camping, you can cook a delicious curry for your friends, awarding each that partake with some experience points, and more for matching the correct flavor to the right critter.

This can take some experimentation, but is well worth your while, especially if you plan on keeping the same Pokemon in your party longterm.

Replay the Champion Cup

Obviously, this method is for end-game players only, but you can actually replay the Champion Cup once you have completed it.

This will allow hardcore players a way to grind their pocket monsters up to the very highest level.

That’s everything you need to know in order to get EXP & level up fast in Pokemon Sword and Shield. For more tips and tricks, be sure to visit our Sword and Shield Wiki Guide.
