Getting Reaper Cloth in Pokemon Sword & Shield

To get a Reaper Cloth, the first thing you need to do is head to Hammerlocke. It’s somewhere you’ll head pretty regularly as part of the story, so you can always wait if you don’t want to travel there while you’re working through the gyms. Below is where on the game’s map you’ll find it.

Once you’re there and you’re at the entrance, head left immediately and keep going until you reach a set of stairs before the train station.

Go up them and head to the right where the church is. Outside it, as you can see in the screenshot below, you’ll find a young girl named Paula. Speak to her and she’ll give you a love letter that she wants you to pass on.

The guy you’ll need to speak to on your journey to get the Reaper Cloth is in Ballonlea, on the western side of Pokemon Sword & Shield’s map.

Head up the stairs on the left and go into the first house.

You’ll then need to speak to the old man in the flat cap, who will tell you a brief story and thank you for delivering you the letter.

You then need to head back to the young girl in Hammerlocke. However, she won’t be there anymore.

To get the Reaper Cloth, you need to wander around in the area she was in, close to the church’s walls, and repeatedly tap A. Eventually, a message will pop up and you’ll have found it.

Alternatively, you can head to the Pokemon Centre right at the entrance to Hammerlock and speak to the girl to the right of the Poke Mart section of the store.

You can buy the Reaper Cloth from her for 10 BP or Battle Points.

What Reaper Cloth Does in Pokemon Sword & Shield

Once your Dusclops has reached level 37, you will be able to evolve it into Dusknoir, but only when you trade it with someone else while it is holding the Reaper Cloth.

Just give the Reaper Cloth to your Dusclops for it to hold, complete the trade, and it will evolve.
