Pokemon Let’s Go: How to Get Thunder Stone

How to Get Thunder Stone in Pokemon Let’s Go

Recommended Videos

Pokemon Let’s Go reimagines the iconic 90s RPG with all new graphics and gameplay systems. One progression mechanic remains the same, however: the various stones used to evolve Pokemon. Here’s how to get Thunder Stone in Pokemon Let’s Go Pikachu and Eevee.

Although most Pokemon evolve naturally as a result of leveling-up, there are certain ones that require a special stone.

Thunder Stone Location

The Fire, Leaf, Water and Thunder Stone stones can all be bought from the same vendor, the Celadon City department. Here, the shopkeeper will sell you for 5000 Poke Dollars.

The Thunder Stone can also be picked up free outside the Power Plant, but you’ll need the Sea Skim ability to find it.

To get to the free Thunder Stone at the Power Plant, walk up to the river that runs north of the building and “skim” across its surface. Work your way downward and around until you see the grassy expanse in front of the building.

Hop off and grab the Thunder Stone, which is on the right-hand side of the building.

Evolving Via the Thunder Stone

As mentioned earlier, though, there’s only a handful of Pokemon that actually require the Thunder Stone as of Gen 1. Only Pikachu and Eevee require it to evolve into Raichu and Jolteon respectively.

It’s very important to note though that only wild Pikachu and Eevee can evolve into Raichu and Jolteon. Your starters do not evolve.

You should evolve wild Eevee into Jolteon ASAP, as it will not start to learn Electric-type moves until you do. The opposite is true for Pikachu.

For non-Eevee Pokemon that evolve via a stone, the stone stunts their move learning abilities other than through TMs/HMs. So make sure your Pikachu has learned all the moves you want it to learn before hitting it with the Thunder Stone.

You might be thinking that previous Pokemon games have featured more stones, but remember that this is a remaster of an old game. For the generation Let’s Go belongs to, this is all you’ll find in the game.

That’s all the information you’ll need about how to get Thunder Stone in Pokemon Let’s Go Pikachu and Eevee. For more useful guides, check out our wiki page.
