Pokemon Let’s Go Pikachu and Eevee is here and we couldn’t be more excited! These games will take you back to your childhood in a beautiful recreation of the Kanto region from the original Pokemon: Yellow. Here’s what you need to know to save your game in Pokemon Let’s Go.

In many ways, Pokemon Let’s Go is a modernized version of the classic RPG games we all know and love. However, much like the old Game Boy games, there is still no auto save, so you’ll have to do it manually.

To save your game, press the X button on your Joy-Con (in handheld mode or docked). If you’re using the Poke Ball Plus it will work a little differently, so press the button on the top of the ball, instead.

This will bring up a menu with a few things to choose from. Using the Joy-Con, move over to the ‘SAVE’ option and press A.

You can maneuver through the menus by moving the white button in the center of the Poke Ball Plus, which acts kind of as an analog stick.

The Poke Ball Plus doesn’t have an A button, so instead select ‘SAVE’ by pressing the white button in the center of the Poke Ball.

After this, all that’s left is to press A one more time on ‘Save your progress’ and your game will be saved. Remember to use the white button on the Poke Ball Plus if you’re using that.

And that’s all there is to saving your game in Pokemon Let’s Go! It’s not complicated or anything, but just know that there is no auto save feature, sadly, so don’t forget to save periodically.

You don’t want to spend hours catching a bunch of Pokemon and forget to save.
