Pokemon GO: Where to Find Your Friend Code

Where to Find Your Friend Code in Pokemon GO

Recommended Videos

One of the biggest additions to Pokemon GO over the last year or so is the addition of a friends system. It allows you to see your friends’ progress, send gifts to each other, and trade Pokemon. As you do each of those things, your friend level will increase, which will grant you better rewards when you Raid together and a stardust discount when you attempt to trade. Since special trades can cost as much as 1 million stardust when your friend level is low, so you’re going to want to become Ultra Friends as soon as possible. You don’t add friends in Pokemon GO using names, though. Much like on Nintendo consoles, you will need to swap friend codes if you want to be added to each others’ friends list. Here’s everything you need to know about where to find your friend code in Pokemon GO.

Once you’ve started Pokemon GO, as usual, click on your character icon at the bottom left of the screen. This will initially bring up your page, showing your XP progression, buddy Pokemon, and gym badges. If you swipe the page left or click on the ‘Friends’ option at the top of the screen, your friends list will show. To find your friend code, click on Add Friend and you will see a box in which you can put someone else’s code and your own code. Here, you can copy the code, share it on social media, or type in a code you have been sent. To become friends, only one person will have to input the code, so there’s no need for both people to share their code.
