Dragon Scale – Pokemon GO
Pokemon GO added a ton of new Gen 2 Pokemon today, but also a new evolution mechanic and some new evolution items. These items are a necessity for certain evolutions, and for those looking to collect them all, we’ll walk you through how to get a Dragon Scale and what Pokemon it evolves.
How to Get a Dragon Scale
Like all evolution items, this can be a reward from a Poke Stop spin. Keep in mind that its appearance will be rare, so just keep travelling and spinning. You’ll encounter one eventually.
What Does Dragon Scale Do?
A Dragon Scale can be used to evolve Seadra into Kingdra, the latter of which was added in the Gen 2 update. As the Dragon Scale name implies, Kingdra is a Dragon/Water type unlike its predecessors, and can use Dragon moves. You will still need the appropriate amount of candy for the evolution, however, since the Scale just acts as an additional requirement. Once you have everything you need, simply evolve your Seadra, and remember that your evolution item will be consumed in the process. Luckily, this item isn’t used to evolve any other Pokemon as of now, so feel free to splurge them on Kingdras.
