What to Do With Strange Rusted Sword in Outward

Recommended Videos

Outward is a complex RPG experience that’s full of quests to complete and things to find. Not all of the items that you’ll find while out exploring will immediately have a use though. Here’s everything you need to know about what to do with the Strange Rusted Sword in Outward.

Where to Get It in Outward

Since the game’s full launch, players have been wondering what exactly the weird item is for. You pick it up once you get to the top of the mountain where you get mana.

While it can be sold, its description in Outward, and the fact that any seemingly useless item with Strange in its name usually hints towards it actually being powerful, prompted players to look for an answer.

Was it something that can be restored somehow? Do you need to give it to a certain person? These were all question that fans were asking on Steam and Reddit threads.

What to Craft With the Strange Rusted Sword

Now, thanks to Reddit user Just2good877, the answer has been found. The Strange Rusted Sword is used for a weapon recipe in Outward. It is for the one-handed sword called Brand. Below are the items you need to craft it:

  • Chemist’s Broken Flask – Bought from Levant Alchemist Shop for 700s.
  • Mage’s Poking Stick – Bought from Monsoon Alchemist Shop for 375s.
  • Blacksmith’s Vintage Hammer – Bought from Berg Blacksmith Shop for 300s.
  • Strange Rusted Sword – Found at the top of the mountain in Cierzo.

The description for the Brand sword in Outward reads, “Inflicts Chill and Pain on enemies, increasing the Frost and Physical damage they take.”

Not only do you need to find the four items, but the prices for the three that can be bought are quite high for a weapon in the game.

That’s everything you need to know about what to do with the Strange Rusted Sword in Outward. For more tips and tricks on the game, be sure to search for Twinfinite.
