How to Level up Weapons and Armor in Outriders

Like with changing a gear’s rarity, leveling up your gear in Outriders is done by speaking to Dr. Zahedi and taking advantage of his services.

He’ll show up in your camp after you complete the Salvation main story mission. If you haven’t reached this point in the game yet, focus on progressing the story until you do.

Once you reach this point, he’ll have a shop set up where you can interact with him to level up weapons and armor. It’ll be denoted by an icon with a screwdriver and wrench crossed into an X.

Once he’s at your camp, interact with him and select the dialogue option related to crafting. This will open a menu where you can select a piece of gear and increase its rarity, increase its attribute boosts, switch out its mods, swap out its variants, and increase its level.

Select the gear you want to level up, and then select the Level Up option. You’ll then be able to increase its level using crafting resources. Armor will require Leather, while weapons will require Iron.

However, it’s worth noting that you’ll be limited in which items you can level up and how much you can raise their level. Only Rare-rated or higher weapons and armor can have their levels raised. Likewise, they can only be raised up to three levels higher than your character’s current level.

Keep this in mind when considering raising an item’s level. Sometimes investing in a new weapon altogether can cost you less resources and leave you with stronger gear overall.
