Choosing the Right Answer – No Man’s Sky
As you travel to new planets in No Man’s Sky, you’ll come across different alien races as well as mysterious terminals that present you with a statement in a language you don’t understand and force you to make a choice. While you will learn a lot of each language during your travels, in the beginning it’s all gibberish making your task a bit more challenging. To add on to the pressure, you only get one chance with each encounter. Answer correctly and you get a reward and additional standing. If you answer incorrectly, you’ll get nothing and even lose standing with whichever race you were dealing with.
Luckily, you don’t have to only rely on some unknown alien language. For each of these encounters, the player’s character will provide their understanding of the current situation, giving some context that may help you out. This can push you towards the right answer if you take the time to read.
For example, you may find yourself in a building with the alarm blaring. Checking the terminal will bring up Gex, or some other random language, but the context will say that the computer is burning up. The choices underneath will ask you to turn on the cooling, break the computer, or leave. By the context of the room being extraordinarily hot, you can deduce that turning on cooling may help.
All of the other situations play out pretty much the same way when you don’t understand what’s being said. It also helps to have an understanding of each race, as they tend to follow specific patterns that will help you make the right choice.
Just take your time in No Man’s Sky. Pay attention to all of the information that’s given to you. If you still feel very unsure, back out by pressing Circle and come back when you’ve learned a few more words.
