NieR: Automata – Increasing Chip Storage Capacity

Recommended Videos

As you discover chips lying around the world of NieR: Automata, you’ll eventually realize that you simply don’t have enough space to install all of them. When you first start out in the game, 2B will have about 40 units of storage. The HUD chips won’t take up a lot of space, but the more powerful ones will demand 10 units and more. To spec out your characters without having to sacrifice your HUD information, you’ll have to increase your android storage capacity so that you can install more chips.

To do this, you’ll want to head back to the Bunker. Look for the elevator that takes you to the Terminal, and you’ll find a vendor at the very end of the room. He can upgrade your Pod for a price, as well as sell you storage upgrades. The first couple of upgrades will only cost you a few thousand G, but the price will go up pretty rapidly as you expand even further. At the moment, the Bunker vendor seems to be the only NPC capable of increasing your storage space.
