NieR: Automata – Changing Your Death Message

Recommended Videos

NieR: Automata has some really cool online features where you get to see the android corpses of other players who have died in the game. When you find a player’s body, you can interact with it and view their death message. Similarly, you can also set a death message for your own character so that other players can read it if they happen to find your corpse as well.

To change your death message, simply head into the game’s menu, and change it in the game options. You’ll get to select from a series of different phrases, and put them together to form a coherent message. For instance, my message currently reads: “A carefree android got distracted by a white flower in a place to die.” Yeah. The phrases can get pretty damn depressing. Whenever your character dies, you’ll have the opportunity to view your death message and edit it in the Game Over screen as well. Feel free to choose the phrases that best represent your character’s state of mind in the game.
