New World is an ambitious pirate-themed MMORPG developed and published by Amazon Games, and it boasts tons of exciting features like large scale PvP wars and an economy that’s entirely player-driven. Aside from just barreling through the main story quests, players can also sink hundreds of hours into the crafting system, which can get extremely grindy. Here’s how to increase your Weaponsmithing level fast in New World.

Increasing Weaponsmithing Level Fast in New World

Weaponsmithing is one of the many trade skills you can level in New World, and just like Armoring, this is a useful one to have if you want to prioritize having the best damage output at all times. One important thing to note is that while most weapon types can be crafted at the Forge via Weaponsmithing, there are a few exceptions. The hatchet, bow, and musket, all require Engineering to craft, and must be crafted at the Workshop.

The magic-based weapons such as the life staff, fire staff, and ice gauntlet require Arcana, and must be crafted at the Arcane Repository. The rest of the weapons like the rapier, warhammer, sword, shield, and great axe are all crafted with Weaponsmithing.

With that in mind, the next thing you need to level up fast is a good gathering route. Primarily, you’ll need tons of green wood, rawhide, and iron ore, especially in the early levels. As your Weaponsmithing level gets into the early 100s, you’ll need to start thinking about orichalcum and starmetal ore as well, but those are much easier to get than iron ore. You’ll also need a good supply of Sand Flux, which is required to smelt your iron ingots into steel ingots, and these are obtained from supply crates or by purchasing through the trading post.

Listed below are the recipes that we’ve found to be the most efficient for leveling up Weaponsmithing in New World:

  • Iron Great Axe (up to level 20)
  • Weak Honing Stones (up to level 50)
  • Iron Great Axe, Iron War Hammer, Weak Honing Stones (up to level 100)
  • Steel Great Axe, Steel War Hammer (up to level 150)
  • Starmetal Great Axe, Starmetal War Hammer (up to level 200)

Even with the most efficient recipes, though, it’ll likely take you tens of hours to mine all the materials you need to level up, unless you choose to buy those materials from the trading post. Considering that buying materials can get extremely costly, and mining materials yourself will grant you some experience as well, we definitely recommend gathering them on your own as much as possible.

That’s all you need to know about how to increase your Weaponsmithing level fast in New World. Be sure to check our guide wiki for more tips and information on the game.
